Please note, we only take bookings for the Old Hall Inn. The Paper Mill is for walk in only. The large table or function rooms can be booked at the Paper Mill by calling us direct.

Simply leave your car parked up for the week and take advantage of the fantastic walking straight from your front door, in the knowledge their will be a roaring open fire on your return from a day in the hills. From Spring Cottage you can enjoy uninterrupted foot paths and bridleways to the Hope Valley, Kinder and the surrounding peaks, as well as the open access National Trust on the relatively 'undiscovered by tourists' hill of Eccles Pike which forms the back drop to the Cottage.

The peak district is famed for some of the countries most impressive and unique stately homes. We are centrally located to explore them all, with Lyme Park only 10mins away and Chatsworth around 30mins.

We are a 15min drive, through stunning scenery, from Castleton. Famed for its many Blue John Mines, the dramatic Winnats Pass and Mam Torr, Peveril Castle and the dozens of cafes. The surrounding area boasts dozens of quaint villages, ideal for exploring through a scenic drive or by bike for the more energetic.

 

Manchester & Sheffield only 30mins by train

 

If you fancy breaking up your rural retreat with a little shopping or night life, Chinley train station is only a 5min walk away and has direct trains to two exciting cities.
