The Old Hall Inn & Paper Mill Inn are two award winning ale houses nestled in the quaint Peak District hamlet of Whitehough. The Old Hall is also highly regarded for its bustling restaurant that spills into the adjoining Elizabethan manor house, with its Minstrels Gallery and intimate dining rooms

Please note, we only take bookings for the Old Hall Inn. The Paper Mill is for walk in only. The large table or function rooms can be booked at the Paper Mill by calling us direct.

We recommend taking the wine flight, offering some excellent wines, matched by Katie, and presented by Katie and our wine supplier. We have some interesting new wines in store for you also. 

The tables are booked for the whole night, and spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

-Distilled with botanic oils giving fresh cucumber flavours and grapefruit with a twist of citrus fruits.

Brisa de verano Garnacha Blanca  (Spain, Catalunya) 125ml glass

-Flavours of peach and citrus with notes of white flower and a little spice. Plenty of minerality and a textural finish.

 

starter course

braised pigs cheek, chive and parmesan hash brown and spicy brown sauce 

Rag and bone Riesling (Australia, Eden Valley) 125ml glass

-flavours and aromas of freshly chopped limes, with a hint of minerality.

fish course

seared cod with xo pork broth, pan choi and crispy leeks 

Chateau de Belleverne, Beaujolais villages (France, Beaujolais) 125ml glass 

- Like all excellent Beaujolais this wine has undergone carbonic maceration giving the wine a great depth and complexity with flavours of crushed strawberries and herbs.

Valenciso reserva (Spain, Rioja) 175ml glass

- Hints of savoury aromas as well as perfumed notes of violets and black fruits. Very elegant with complex tannins and a touch of spice.
