At The Old Hall Inn, we serve proper pub food made with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. From hearty classics and Sunday roasts to refined small plates and peak district produce, our menu changes with the seasons but always keeps its roots in good, honest cooking.

January doesn’t have to be boring.

As we come to the end of another fantastic year, we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful regulars and the many new faces who have visited us throughout the year. Your continued support truly means the world to us.

This year has been especially exciting with the opening of our new extension in September. The feedback we’ve received has been incredible, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has taken the time to share their kind words and enthusiasm—it’s been amazing to see the space enjoyed exactly as we hoped.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to the entire Paper Mill team. Their hard work, dedication, and passion are what make everything possible, and we couldn’t do it without them.

As we head into the festive season, we’d like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. We look forward to welcoming you during the build-up to the New Year and into the year ahead.

We’re hiring Weekend Bar Staff & Housekeeping Staff at The Old Hall Inn, Chinley — a chance to join a team in one of the Peak District’s most beloved country inns. If you’re 18+, experienced, and love good service, we want you!

Loads of character & history: This is a 16th-century coaching inn nestled in Whitehough, Chinley. Old beams, stone mullioned windows, little window seats, oak four-poster beds, cosy fireplaces — it’s charming, warm, and full of atmosphere.

Great food & drink: We’re known for our seasonal, locally-sourced menu (you’ll see classic favourites done really well: our suet pudding is almost legendary around here). The bar has a fantastic range of real ales, ciders, wines, and gins.

Amazing location: Set at the edge of the Peak District, just a short walk (≈10 minutes) from Chinley train station. It’s perfect for people who love countryside walks, breathtaking views, and being part of a place that welcomes visitors from near and far.

Comfort & quality: The rooms across the Inn, Whitehough Hall and sister building The Paper Mill are all unique, very well kept, with comfy beds, clean bathrooms, smart TVs, lovely linen.
